APX: Filing team

I work at APX which is an alarm security system office at the Riverwoods in Orem. It pays really good and the work is super easy. We basically get bundles of contracts from from sales representatives from all around the US and put them in folders, label it, make sure the information is correct and things like that. Sounds tedious but I love it. I think I enjoy the work because as the “filing team” does it we get to listen to music and talk all day. We come up with the strangest conversations sometimes. One guy isn’t Mormon and we’ll have religious conversations and it’s just interesting to give his point of view on things.

The company treats us really well too. Every week will have a designated pizza day, ice cream day or anything along those lines. One week we all were working a lot of overtime hours and they order us Coldstone ice cream and another day we got CafĂ© Rio. Our break room has air hockey, futsal and ping pong. APX also has hired out this masuse to give the employees free massages. Each department gets a turn every few weeks. It was our departments turn last week and I decided to sign up. I was nervous because I’ve never had a massage before. But my back was hurting and it sounded like something I wasn’t going to regret. It was great. It was only 15 minutes but well worth it.

A couple nights ago we had a department BBQ at our boss’ complex. There was a basket court, pool, playground, club house and a pavilion. It was so much fun. Brooks and I went on the playground reminiscing our elementary years. We didn’t bring swim suits so we just waded our feet in the nice warm water. It was so fun. I really enjoy my job mostly because I like the people I work with. The filing team used to have seven people and each use to have a designated dwarf name. I was nominated “Happy” which I was pleased with. Work is great. I’m so grateful I’ve work at APX and having the experiences I’m having.

A couple weekends ago Brooks took me to this place, near Riverwoods, called Color Me Mine. It was so fun. What you do is, pick out a ceramic plate, bowl, mug, butter dish, plug cover or whatever and you paint it! They provide all sort of paint and supplies. They have speckled paint, bubbled paint, letters and a ton of colors to choose from. They fired them up in a kiln and they turned out great! We decided that I was going to make his (right) and he was going to make mine (left). You can't really tell, but he did my name on mine. For his, I basically made up some weird design. It was a great date idea and I think you all should try it! Oh....and if you do don't forget to post picture on the blog for us to see :D.

Family Blog

FAMILY!!! Hey, I just wanted you all to know that I'm so excited for this family blog to pick up. I feel like our lives are so busy and we don't see each other as often as we'd like to. This is a great way to see what everyone has been up to. I'm still struggling trying to figure some things out on here, but I love looking at the pictures and reading about everyone. I love you all!
